Okay, here's my working theory: I think that Miksa/Meir Kuttner's mother Lotta was also named Sheindel. Does that make sense? Lotta is her Hungarian name and Sheidel her Hebrew name? As you might know, Miksa Kuttner was not born in Boynhad but in Mosonszenpeter now known as Gyor-Sopron-Moson. At the JewishGen.org website, I found that in the cemetery there (known as the Györ-Szigeti Temetö cemetery) is a tombstone for Yosef Kuttner (which is the same name as Miksa Kuttner's father, so it's probably him) and for Sheindel Kuttner, who I'm theorizing was his wife.

On the matzeivah of Martzel Kuttner that was reproduced in the Hungarian edition, it mentions his grandmother's name as Sheindel. Do we know anyting about her? Which grandmother was she, because in my notes it says it says that Mayer Kuttner's mother was named Latta and Devorah Kuttner's mother was named Rivka/Regina. So who is this Sheindel? Was she perhaps a great-grandmother, not grandmother?Kol Tuv,
