The town of Tallosh in Hungary

At my suggestion, the town of Tallosh (Tallós in Hungarian and Tomášikovo in Slovak) in present-day Slovakia has been added to the JewishGen Gazetteer, although it has not yet been added to the JewishGen Comunities database. My family descends from my gg-grandfather Rabbi Pinchas KOHN (who was the Shochet and Bodek) of Tallosh and I am researching more about the family. Rabbi KOHN was also a grandfather of the late Rabbi Yissachar Dov GOLDSTEIN (author of Likutei HeAros Al Sifrei Teshuvos Chasam Sofer and Ohel Yissaschar).

The only other mentions that I have found of the town of Tallosh are the fact that Rabbi Avraham Yitzchok GLICK (1826-1909) was the Rabbi of that town for three years. Rabbi GLICK wrote several works including four volumes of responsa Yad Yitzchok and a commentary Beer Yitzchok on the Talmud with two volumes on Tractate Gittin and one on Chullin. And that Rabbi Moshe David ASHKENAZI (1774-1856), author of Toldos Adam and Be'er Sheva and father-in-law of the Yeitav Lev (founder of the Satmar/Sighet hassidic dynasty) was the Rabbi there before moving to Safed, I also found that Rabbi Aharon GREENBERG (1811-1893), a student of the Chasam Sofer was the Rabbi of Tallosh at some point before becoming the Rabbi of Michalovce where he printed his work Daas Sofer (1891) on Gittin and Kesubos. Other names of Rabbis who served there that I found are Rabbi Akiva Pinchas KORNITZER and Rabbi Shmuel GOTTLEIB. However, I have been told that I might be confusing Tallós/Tomášikovo (which is currently in the Galanta district in Slovakia) with Toltchwa/Tolcsva (which is currently in the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County in Hungary) because the two names are very similar (especially in Hebrew which is the main language of most of my research).

So I would like to ask two questions: Which of the above Rabbis served in the same town that my gg-grandfather lived and which did not. Secondly, does anyone have any more information about the Jewish community in my gg-grandfather's town of Tallosh and especially about his family?

Hello. I am trying to find information about my Klein family who immigrated from Prussia to Texas in 1891. The family consisted of Peter Klein, his wife Catherine Barta, and their three sons Anton Klein, James Klein and Peter Klein. The family holds that they were a Jewish family that came to America as Peter Sr. was very ill and wanted to settle in a "safer" place for his family before dying. That's all the information I have on them, but I would love to know who they were and where they came from, if anyone can help!

Thank you!
